French operator's existing service was transitioned to Real yesterday
RealNetworks has secured a three-year deal to power mobile music services for SFR.
The agreement represents Real's first for such a service in France and takes the number of European mobile music services it powers to 11.
Last week Real assumed management of Si.Mobil's Orto Musiq service in Slovenia, adding functionality including all you can eat downloads.
It has other agreements in place with mobilkom austria group’s A1, and Vodafone music stores in nine countries.
Andreas Spechtler, Managing Director, EMEA, Technology, Products & Solutions at RealNetworks, said: “We view this deal as validation of our ongoing efforts to provide the cutting-edge features that operators and their subscribers want. We welcome our first deployment in France, particularly with an operator which has long been recognised as a leading innovator in mobile music in Europe.”
