And that's in just 20 days...
If the iPhone success of Spotify and Pandora wasn't proof enough that users of Apple's handset are mad for streaming music, now RealNetworks has revealed strong download numbers for its Rhapsody iPhone app.
In just 20 days of availability, the application has been downloaded more than 200,000 times. That's good news for Real, since it requires a $14.99-a-month subscription to its Rhapsody To Go service to work.
Well, sort of. Real hasn't announced how many of those 200k downloads were existing Rhapsody To Go subscribers. What's more, it's offering a free seven-day trial to people who aren't already subscribers.
In other words, all those downloads aren't necessarily turning into big additional revenues for RealNetworks. However, it does show there's a demand for Rhapsody on the iPhone.
And Android too? Real has announced that it's working on an Android version of its application, which will be live by the end of this year.
