Storing and streaming music, video and photos to multiple devices, but live later than expected.
RealNetworks has finally launched its Unifi cloud media service, after a delay due to finalising the initial version of the service with partner Vodafone Germany.
Unifi will enable its users to store their music, photos and videos in the cloud and access them from multiple devices, including PCs, Macs, iPhones and Android devices. BlackBerry support is coming a little later.
The company had expected to launch Unifi earlier this year. "Real's direct-to-consumer product was delayed by one quarter in order to ensure a successful launch with Vodafone," spokesperson Barbara Krause tells the Seattle Times.
Vodafone is charging users €2.99 a month for 10GB of storage, €4.99 for 30GB and €9.99 for 70GB. Unifi's limited launch means it has beaten rival services from Apple, Google and Amazon to launch in Europe.
Sony's Music Unlimited service is available in Germany, but as the name implies, focuses on one specific content category.
