Radvision has launched a set of off-the-shelf tools to help operators and other providers offer services such as video chat, video ringbacks and video-oriented portals.
The Israeli infrastructure specialist has based these new tools on its SCOPIA interactive video platform, which delivers multiple real-time video sources in applications delivered over UMTS, CDMA EV-DO, cable and other IP networks. It says the solution can be used to power services such as:
· Mobile video vonferencing (enterprise and consumer)
· Mobile community and video chat that combines live and recorded streamed video
· Video ringback clips
· Portals that offer video content with personalised interactivity functions
· M-learning (video-enabled mobile remote learning)
· Video sharing – what Radvision terms 3Gtubing
Alon Barnea, general manager of Radvision’s mobility and service provider business unit, said: “We believe that today’s mobile and converged lifestyle, where usage is motivated by the users themselves, will spur 3G usage. With these ready-to-deploy applications and infrastructure solutions, mobile operators and application service providers can deliver the services consumers appreciate, will use and pay for. These services can be delivered today, and seamlessly migrate to IMS when desired.”
