Deal will put Scalado's imaging tech into next gen Qualcomm chipsets
Scalado’s technology is already embedded in over half a billion mobile phones. The idea behind this arrangement is that OEMs using Qualcomm chips will be able to offer imaging 'experiences' such as Zero Shutter Lag and TimeWarp out of the box.
With 8 megapixel and above now commonplace in phones, more powerful software is required to capture, process and edit hi-res images.
“Qualcomm is committed to continually providing our customers with industry-leading chipset solutions, and ultimately delivering more compelling experiences to mobile users,” said Jason Bremner, vice president of product management for Qualcomm CDMA Technologies.
“Our work with Scalado is part of that commitment, enabling us to ensure that the cameraphone functionality our chipsets support is second to none.”
