Dual-cor!
Qualcomm enjoyed a storming CES show last week, with several high-profile devices using its 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
However, it's set to get even faster this year, with two new versions due to released for manufacturers.
Luis Pineda, SVP of product management at Qualcomm, tells Hexus that later this month, the 1.3GHz Snapdragon 8X50A will make its debut.
Then, later in the year, a dual-core version of the processor - the 1.5GHz 8X72 - will be made available to device makers, including smartphone and laptop manufacturers.
The latter processor looks set to spearhead Qualcomm's efforts in the self-coined 'smartbook' sector, following the unveiling last week of Lenovo's Skylight.
