Vision-based AR kit officially available for iOS developers.
In July of last year, Qualcomm launched its software development kit for building Augmented Reality apps on Android.
A few weeks ago it confirmed that iPhone coders would be given access to the tools too. Yesterday, it rolled out a beta release of the iOS-compatible SDK from its Qualcomm Austria Research Center.
Qualcomm's AR tools focus on the kind of AR that uses a visual trigger (in books, magazines, brochures, tickets, signs etc) to bring forth a 3D animation or image.
It's not quite the same as the location-based visual tags used by Layar and the rest.
