Developer promises new features across iPhone, iPad and Android.
News aggregation app Pulse now has more than four million users across iPhone, iPad and Android. That's up from just 200,000 users in November 2010 according to Mashable.
The app's developer, also called Pulse, has just announced a $9 million funding round from New Enterprise Associates, Greycroft Partners and Lerer Ventures.
NEA's Patrick Chung will join Pulse's board as part of the funding, while Greycroft's Alan Patricof and Lerer's Ken Lerer will act as advisers.
"Alan and Ken were part of the original team who financed the Huffington Post, and we look forward to leveraging the insight they gained from building a new paradigm in news," says co-founder Akshay Kothari.
Pulse will use its funding injection to continue adding new features to its app, which offers a more visual take on news feeds. Social features are apparently high on the agenda.
