CES announcements from Sony set to includes new Skype service for its PSP handheld.
The eagle-eyed folks at Pocketgamer have spotted that Sony's official Consumer Electronics Show website is carrying details of a new Skype voice service for the Wi-Fi enabled PlayStation Portable (PSP).A line in the PSP spec text reads: "Call friends, talk trash to fellow gamers or catch up with acquaintances via Skype for PSP system."
As well as turning PSP into a phone, the addition of Skype will further blur the boundaries between portable media players, handsets and 'mobile' content.
Sony is thought to be working on a downloadable content store for PSP and the device already supports the 1seg mobile TV service in Japan.
