Local search platform comes with an AR feature that overlays results with the real-world environment.
A specially integrated version of Poynt is being included in the on-device Samsung Apps area on all Galaxy devices, including the popular S II and Tab.
The Galaxy S and Galaxy S II devices have sold a combined 30 million units since launch.
Poynt is delighted with the deal because of the stickiness of services that are pre-loaded as opposed to downloaded. It says its retention rate through a pre-load is approximately forty per cent over time. The service currently has 11m users.
Andrew Osis, CEO, Poynt, said: “Poynt has experienced incredible user uptake and retention on the Android platform.
“We expect our long term service offering through Samsung Apps to accelerate our user numbers globally, with the potential to add 50 million new users over time.”
