Poynt hits 10m worldwide users

1.5m newbies have arrived since July via iPhone, Android, Windows, Nokia and BlackBerry devices.

Canadian location-based advertiser Poynt hit the ten million milestone aided by the multi-platform availability of its app.

The firm has seen a 162 per cent growth from this time last year and a 900 per cent growth on September 2009 when the users were at one million.

Andrew Osis, president & CEO, Poynt Corp, said: "Our position in the mobile application space has become increasingly strong. Ten million users and growing is key to Poynt's expanding the number of advertisers and strengthening the App's mobile commerce offerings like 'daily deals' and mobile couponing."

The app is currently available in Canada, the US, the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Australia.

The firm predicts that as the app becomes available across more devices and locations, it will see an acceleration in user numbers and revenues.
