Porsche unveils touchscreen phone

There's no 3G though, so not quite as quick as a GT2.

Sportscar maker Porsche will this evening officially unveil its second stab at the mobile phone market in the form of the P9522, which has been developed in partnership with Sagem.

On the plus side, the successor to the P9521 comes with a touchscreen (with fingerprint recognition), five megapixel camera, GPS receiver and wi-fi.

On the downside, it only offers GSM/EDGE connectivity, which seems a bit criminal in this day and age, even more so considering the brand in question is all about speed.

However, Porsche explains this away by saying the phone is aimed squarly at trendy types more interested in the badge than how quickly they can access the internet.

The device is expected to retail SIM-free from about 600 euros, with a free 911 bundled with every unit.
