Plants vs. Zombies and Bejeweled 2 do the business.

According to Forbes' Oliver Chiang, the company had total sales of around $100m in 2010, 30 per cent of which came from mobile.

The Seattle-based games developer has been a casual 'giant' for a decade making a ton of money and sales from Bejeweled in particular, which has sold more than 50 million copies since it launched in 2001.

So the app store era has been a real gift for Popcap. Indeed, in 2009 for the first time, desktop sales did not make up the majority of total revenue.

It also became the only game publisher to have two entries in the Apple top 10, with Plants vs. Zombies and Bejeweled 2 Blitz.

PopCap's CEO Dave Roberts also told Chiang the company is considering a floatation on a US stock exchange in the second half of 2011.
