There is life beyond iPhone's App Store, y'know.
At a time when iPhone developers are boasting about seven-figure download totals, selling 18-19 copies of your BlackBerry app a day doesn't sound like the high life.
However, when that app costs $9.99, and you're a one-man band working in your basement, it's a pretty impressive achievement.
Marcus Watkins, who sells the PodTrapper BlackBerry app (among others), gave a talk at RIM's Developer Conference today to share the lessons he's learned since launching that app in November last year.
They included the importance of marketing and PR, as well as setting time aside every day to respond to user emails. Watkins also explained that developers shouldn't ignore older handsets, and contrasted stores like Handango and MobiHand with RIM's own BlackBerry App World.
