PNY believes the new card will accelerate the progress of mobile as a business and entertainment channel.
These thumbnail-sized cards hold more data than portable hard drives were capable of storing just a few years ago.
Adrien Thebault, PNY's European flash media product manager, said: “The latest multimedia devices such as smart phones are enabling people to access their data while travelling, regardless of where they are.”
The 16GB MicroSDHC is available from May 2009 onwards.
