E-book solution is used by around 3m kids each day.

Playtales, a children's interactive story platform, is supporting more than five million reads a month on iOS devices (also available on Android and BlackBerry) as three million youngsters now use the service every day.

The e-books are available in eight different languages and contain animations and sounds to complement the words in order to provide 'meaningful content' for kids.

A new PlayTales Gold subscription-based app is available for Apple and Android devices, and those using the former can benefit from a free one month trial if they download before October 31st.

PlayTales stories include Sleeping Beauty, Puss in Boots, Felix the Cat and more, with children's spelling and mathematical skills tested throughout.

Enrique Tapias, CEO, PlayTales, said: "PlayTales has been successful globally because it provides what every parent is looking for in an application. Users can build their own home library on their mobile devices and thanks to each story’s high level of interactivity and content, children are able to stay focused on what they are reading and enjoy the learning process.

"PlayTales Gold has proven to be a great app for families worldwide during our trial sessions, for the launch of the new version we are offering users a free month of PlayTales Gold so they can see it for themselves."
