PlayJam launches 'magic wand' for gaming

Voldemort wants one.

The wand was developed by Philips, and is based on its uWand techm which lets users control gaming action by direct pointing and 3D gesture control.

In this instance, the wand will be used to enhance casual gaming on Smart TV. So, no, there's no mobile angle here. But we couldn't resist reporting it.

PlayJam will integrate support for uWand technology in its SDK for use in next generation TVs.

Anthony Johnson, commercial director at PlayJam, said; "uWand's accurate pointing and quicker cursor navigation combined with its ability to recognise simple, subtle 3D gestures provides a step change in the way users can interact with PlayJam like no other controller technology."

PlayJam's turnkey games solution contains a library of casual and social games via millions of connected devices.
