Verizon Wireless has launched Player X's Zapper TV video channel.
The deal means Verizon's V CAST 3G customers can now access video clips from the likes of Wallace & Gromit, Hot Fuzz and Mr. Bean's Holiday, in addition for made-for-mobile content such as Miami Vice, Knight Rider and Magnum P.I. 'animated 'retrosodes'.Zapper TV, which is based on the geekTV concept launched by Player X with 3 and O2 in the UK earlier this year, will sit in the 'TV & Film' section on V CAST video-enabled phones.
Player X CEO Tony Pearce told ME: "Zapper TV is the first unbranded European video channel to secure distribution with Verizon Wireless, which shows just how strong our content catalogue is considering the many other international broadcasting bands that are already part of V CAST."
Access to the whole V CAST service costs $3 for 24 hours or $15 a month.
