Player X moves into India

Player X has expanded into India with the opening of a 50-person QA, deployment and porting facility.

The move is part of the company’s aggressive expansion into aggregation across various content types, including games and mobile TV, in addition to account management, portal management and marketing services.

Player X recently hired Paulo Gorab as its VP for Latin America to head up regional operations from Brazil and will soon be opening an office in Australia.

This year the company has struck content deals with the likes of Sky TV and EMI Music and has extended its relationship with FremantleMedia by adding a PrizePlay element to games such as Family Fortunes and The Price Is Right.

Geek TV, a made-for-mobile TV channel produced by Player X, is currently live with 3 and O2 in the UK and Reliance in India. A second channel aimed at the North American market is currently under development.

Player X CEO Tony Pearce said: "Opening an office in India is a natural progression for Player X, enabling us to offer our partners a complete distribution ecosystem and a wide variety of tailored services to meet their requirements. We’re looking to scale the office significantly over the next 12 months."
