Prince Andrew went to Scotland in person to give Picsel its double Queen's Award for Enterprise.
Picsel is only the second company to receive a Double Queen’s Award in the same year, so Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, visited Picsel’s offices in Glasgow to meet CEO Imran Khand.The Queen's Awards are presented each year on the advice of the Prime Minister, and assisted by an Advisory Committee that includes representatives of the Government, industry and trade unions.
Imran Khand said: "Receiving two Queen's Awards is indeed a great honour and in turn acknowledges the company’s achievements over the past 12 months. The accolade of a royal seal of approval for our business clearly positions us as one of the top performing businesses in the UK."
Picsel develops browsers, readers and rich media platforms for mobile. It has enjoyed particular success in Asia, building a strong base of partners including Samsung, NTT DoCoMo, Sharp, Motorola, NEC, KTF, Toshiba and LG.
