Need to chill out your cat, dog or horse? There's an app for that!
US firm Pet Acoustics has launched its first iPhone app, offering music to soothe cats, dogs and horses. Oh, and their owners too.
The application includes a selection of music, designed to soothe anxious animals. The company says possible usage cases include thunderstorms, visits to the vet, car travel or general separation anxiety.
The $1.99 app is based on the technology used in existing Pet Acoustics products. "After many years of research and testing, I have learned that music can make a huge difference in the quality of life for dogs, cats and horses," says founder Janet Marlow.
"Now, with Pet Acoustics Apple app, people and their pets can create a state of relaxation in any environment."
The application includes timer features so music can be set at designated times. It might be tempting to poke fun, but it's sure to find an audience among anyone with a dog who tears curtains to shreds if left alone in the house, or cats who turn into yowling killing machines at the sight of a travel basket.
