Pepsi has teamed up with MTV to launch a free iPhone app based on console game Rock Band.
It's not a game though. Pepsi Rock Band is a novelty application that lets people put their own faces on avatars from the console game.
They can then save the resulting mash-up to their iPhone, or share it with friends by email, or on Facebook, Flickr or Twitter.
The free app has been developed for Pepsi by Zumobi, the company that started its life making a mobile widgets platform before diversifying into branded apps.
Pepsi Rock Band ties in with Pepsi's Drink Up, Rock Out campaign, which involves giving away free Rock Band downloads through codes on its drinks cans.
The iPhone app has a section letting users click through to buy songs featured in the promotion from Apple's iTunes Store. Artists including Wolfmother, Fall Out Boy and Boston are taking part.
