PayPal adds bump tech to its Android app

New features bring it into line with the iPhone incarnation

PayPal has released a new version of its free Android app, adding in the features already available on the iPhone version.

Top of the list is the ability to 'bump' two handsets together in order to transfer money between two PayPal account.

The update also means users can 'split the check' - a nifty little function that allows people to split a bill an then collect the cash when on a night out etc.

PayPal says the last six months have seen it generate twice the mobile payments volume it did in 2009, with the company expecting volumes to reach $500 million by the end of 2010.
