Paid and lite...
iPhone game Parachute Panic (App Store link) has now been downloaded more than four million times from the App Store, according to its publisher FDG Entertainment.
As ever with this kind of big number in the iPhone world, it covers downloads of both the paid and free versions of the game - so it's impossible to judge roughly how much money FDG is making from it, or how successful the free version has been in upselling users to the paid game.
Still, it's certainly given the publisher a platform to try, as well as to cross-promote its future iPhone games.
Talking of cross-promotion, FDG has also announced a deal with fellow iPhone developer Lima Sky, that sees a character from the latter's hugely popular game Doodle Jump make a cameo appearance in Parachute Panic.
The deal also included plugs for FDG's game in Doodle Jump itself, sending it back into the Top 100 paid chart in several countries.

Independent iPhone developers have been quick to see the potential of these kinds of deals. Earlier this year, Lima Sky forged a similar partnership with Bolt Creative involving Doodle Jump and the latter's Pocket God.
