70% of them are free though.
There are now more than 1,000 apps available for Palm's webOS smartphone platform, which is used for its Pre and Pixi handsets.
The data was reported by TechCrunch, based on figures from the webOS School App Catalog Viewer website.
Of the 1,004 apps listed at the time of writing, 701 are paid and 303 are free. Games, Productivity, Sports and Entertainment are the four most popular categories, in order.
The site also offers a chart of the most downloaded apps in the last 30 days, which is topped by AccuWeather with more than 126,000 downloads, followed by Backgrounds (119k) and The Weather Channel (110k). All ten of the most downloaded apps are freebies, unsurprisingly.
webOS School also estimates that Palm's App Catalog generated just over $30,000 of download revenues yesterday, split between Palm, developers and payment partner PayPal.
