Touchscreen Pre is powered by revamped Palm Web operating system and is exclusive to Sprint.
Palm generated a surprising amount of excitement at CES overnight with its new mobile OS and touchscreen smartphone.The Pre, which is available now to, er, pre-order on Sprint, effectively represents the future of Palm, with both device and OS in development since 2007.
Aside from the touchscreen, the Pre is equipped with 8GB memory, GPS, Wi-Fi, slide out keyboard, EV-DO 3G, web-based apps, email, 3 MP camera, music, video etc.
It will also come with Sprint TV and Sprint Navigation embedded.
Palm says webOS leverages several industry-standard technologies, including CSS, XHTML and JavaScript.
