Users of Palm's Pre smartphone can now sync it with their iTunes libraries once more.
It was one of the big selling points of the Pre when it launched in June, since Apple has famously restricted iTunes to working with its own devices.
However, the last iTunes update disabled the functionality, which Palm had achieved by getting the Pre to pretend it was an iPod.
Now Palm has issued an update to the Pre's software restoring the sync capability. Naturally, Apple probably has coders working now on disabling it again in the next iTunes update, and so on.
Whether Pre users are happy with the constant uncertainty of whether the feature will work or not remains to be seen.
It's hard not to fight the feeling that Palm might be better off developing its own desktop music application that can sniff out MP3s on a user's hard drive, and sync them with the Pre.
