Oxygen8 strengthens Oceania biz with IDS acquisition

UK billing specialist acquires Aussie counterpart and customers such as SonyBMG, Sydney Airport and Edge 96fm.

The purchase of Information Dialling Services (IDS) represents further international expansion for Oxygen8, which now has a network offering billing and VAS services in over 110 countries.

It has offices in the UK, Ireland, Australia, USA, South Africa, Canada, Tanzania, Kenya and Mozambique, and the Caribbean.

Shane Leahy, Group CEO of Oxygen8, said: “IDS customers will now benefit from working with a global business provider that has the infrastructure, technical skills and depth of resource to take new products to market quickly and easily, whilst still having the benefit of ‘on-the-ground’ local knowledge and support.”  

He added that Oxygen8 will also use the acquisition to explore the market for mobile service to the corporate sector.
