Oxygen8 appoints North America CEO

Anne-Marie Fahrenkrug-Ortiz recruited from US Cellnet Information.

The UK mobile VAS firm is expanding its US and Canadian business activities with this appointment.

Fahrenkrug-Ortiz will also push forward with the introduction of direct operator billing services in the region, with Oxygen8 now able to offer it on Verizon and AT&T, with Sprint and T-Mobile to follow shortly.

Web-based operator billing allows up to $50 per transaction or up to $50 per month on subscription to be charged for non-handset services.

Fahrenkrug-Ortiz says, “There are some fantastic opportunities for revenue growth in the US market, but to date companies have been hesitant to enter this market due to the complexity of the regulations.
