Outer Empires finally released for iPhone

After what has been an agonisingly long wait

Cross-platform MMO Outer Empires has finally gone live on the Apple App Store.

The £1.19 game bears more than a passing resemblance to classic space adventure title Elite, and allows gamers to conquer the galaxy both on the iPhone and in their internet browser.

“I feel really excited that App is finally on the App store at last,” IronWill Studios boss Paul Hutson told CasualGaming.biz. “It's excellent to see all the new people in game flying around and experiencing the Outer Empires Galaxy.

“Looking at the accounts created for the game, the downloads are going very well so far.”

Hutson has been waiting a long time for his baby to hit the market, though, thanks to Apple’s famously tricky submission process for the App Store.

“From first submission to release we had a total of 76 days in the Apple App Review process,” Hutson added. “I'll admit that it was frustrating at times – and I'm still having problems getting some more issues resolved with the App store now.”

ME sister-site CasualGaming.biz named Outer Empires its Game of the Week back in September. It also caught up with IronWill’s Paul Hutson in this exclusive interview.
