Orange UK opens first multimedia store

Milton Keynes outlet will sell the Motorola DEXT from today - before anywhere else in the world

Orange opened its first ever UK Multimedia Store today, delivering what it calls 'a completely new dimension of multimedia services to the community in the area'.

Situated in thecentre:mk in the midlands town of Milton Keynes, the store has been designed to encourage ‘engagement’ between consumers and Orange's various multimedia services.

It is also the first store in the world to offer the Motorola DEXT handset (the other 401 Orange UK stores will stock it from tomorrow).

The Milton Keynes Multimedia Store is part of a renewed retail push from the operator, which says it will have 420 UK stores, including concession outlets, by the end of 2009.

Sian Doyle, Director of Orange Retail, said: “Milton Keynes offers the perfect venue to launch the first ever Orange Multimedia Store. Its young demographic and forward-thinking population plus the estimated potential 297,000 mobile users in the city, tells us there is high demand for the latest mobile, broadband and digital solutions."
