Operator extends its deal with wrapper firm after successful trial with its Signature handset range.
Flexion offers a tech that 'wraps' games and limits their playing time, levels etc. But these are full versions of the title rather than demos, so the full game can be 'unwrapped' at any time. This gives more control to the operator and saves time for the publisher.
It has been used for pre-loaded games by Orange since 2010 across the UK, France, Switzerland, Poland and Portugal. The original deal was for top-end Signature devices, but now the deal has been extended to non-Signature devices.
“Orange is the first global operator to launch Flexion and their requirements gave us the chance to implement the full capabilities of the Flexion platform,” said Jens Lauritzson, CEO of Flexion.
“The mobile landscape is changing as some consumers are becoming very content-savvy, while others are just entering the market. Therefore the ability to offer retail solutions such as multiple price points, as well as increased exposure to content, is imperative to grow the market further.”
