Orange prepares portal ad offering

Orange UK is ready to ramp its mobile advertising strategy after appointing Matthew Kirk as its new director of portals.

Kirk will be responsible for the alignment of the existing Orange mobile and web portals, in addition to guiding the development of Orange as a content provider and advertising channel.

He has been with Orange for nearly five years, most recently as director of devices, and now leads a 120-strong team in the strategic development, editorial delivery, advertising sales and product implementation of both the Orange World mobile portal and on-line site Orange.co.uk.

Kirk said: "The entertainment and technology industries are aligning at great speed and it’s changing the face of the media and communications landscape. For our customers, that means they’ll have access to the content and people that matter to them regardless of whether they’re at home or on the move."

Kirk will report directly to Eric Abensur, VP of home division for Orange UK.
