Opera Software has released an upgrade of its Opera Mini mobile web browser with built-in social networking features.
Ten months after launch, the original Opera Mini has more than eight million users who have browsed more than two billion pages. T-Mobile International and Telefónica Móviles are among the operatos to have installed Opera Mini on selected handsets.
Jon von Tetzchner, CEO of Opera Software, said: "We are excited to improve on the mobile web experience. I think the main reason for Mini's success is that it, for the first time, allows millions of people to use their mobile phones to access the same Web sites they do from their desktop."
