Opera Telecom has become the Lycos mobile content provider in the UK. The Birmingham based content provider will offer games, ringtones and wallpapers via a tenancy on the Lycos mobile channel. The two partners have entered a revenue-sharing agreement.
Opera Telecom is the ideal partner for Lycos, says Carole Jordorson, sales director of Lycos UK. This move will mark a return for us to the mobile content market and provide a platform to expand our mobile channel. Lycos users have shown a real appetite for mobile and this compliments our chat and Love@Lycos dating service ideally. Lycos UK has new mobile entertainment technologies planned for launch in early-2005, so this deal will give us the bedrock for their launch to the consumer marketplace.
