Openwave is helping operators create flexible mobile internet options for subscribers.
It’s introduced Passport, which enables subscriber options like day-long, hour-long and week-long browsing passes. Sean MacNeill, VP of for service management and global services at Openwave, said: “Openwave’s mobile internet services set a new industry standard for experiencing the web on a mobile device, and are driving new opportunities through support of ‘pay as you go’ mobile internet and service subscription signup models.”A second service, OpenMedia, converts files like PDFs, MS Office documents and embedded Flash clips to a format optimised for mobile devices.
