Service will enable brands to send messages, promos and coupons to customers.
Mobile payments firm OpenMarket has launched the Push Notifications service to expand its existing messaging suite. The tech will allow businesses to deliver targeted messages – deals, news, updates – to users via their smartphone apps.
Firms will be able to send messages to their collective subscriber base or selected sub-groups to avoid spam and OpenMarket expects the service to increase app engagement and brand loyalty.
Meanwhile, ad and marketing firm Publicis has signed up to Push Notifications to send daily updates to over 10,000 users across its iOS, Android and BlackBerry apps.
Alex Moir, General Manager for OpenMarket Europe, said: "This agreement with Publicis underlines OpenMarket’s presence in the global mobile apps economy.
"With our Push Notification solutions, we can support customers of all types and sizes to design and deliver an effective mobile app strategy that meets their particular aims and objectives."
