Will all phones become smartphones? This and more discussed at next week's event.

The Open Mobile Summit, which takes place in London on June 10th and 11th, will comprise various sessions that assess the drastic changes taking place in mobile handsets.

A panel session entitled 'Beyond the Phone: Devices in the open mobile age' will discuss the smartphone revolution, the rise of MIDs, connected consumer electronics and other issues.

Speakers include Yves Maitre of Orange, Aymar de Lencquesaing of Acer, Jin Sung Choi of LG, Nabeel Mardi of T-Mobile International and Enrico Salvatori of Qualcomm Europe.
 
A second panel 'Beyond the handset: Connected devices in a mobile broadband world' will look more closely at who will control the connected customer experience and what's next after the PC.
