OneApp: Microsoft's other mobile app store?

Windows Marketplace for Mobile may not be Microsoft's only mobile application store, it seems.

The company's Windows Mobile app store is due to launch this Autumn, but there is already strong speculation that Microsoft is working on a second store, following its application for the trademark OneApp.

In the application, it's described as an online store from which users can download apps for mobile phones, media players and other portable electronic devices. That implies Zune players as well as mobile handsets.

There's more, though. The application describes "computer software for allowing mobile device users to send messages, make payments and access and play music, games and videos on mobile devices".

Tech blog istartedsomething, which broke the news, suggests that the name 'OneApp' implies that apps sold through this store might work across all the different devices.
