Smartphones the biggest contributor to dial up the Number of the Beast.
Religion and mythology commonly associate the figure 666 as the 'Number of the Beast'. The GSA (Global mobile Suppliers Association), however, says it currently represents the number of LTE devices available on the market, made by 87 OEMs.
Alan Hadden, president of the GSA, said: "Around 400 new LTE user devices were announced in the past year, and in this time the number of manufacturers grew by 52 per cent. Smartphones are now the largest LTE device category."
There are now 221 LTE-enabled smartphones on the market, a 360 per cent year-on-year growth, while the number of 4G tablets almost tripled, with dongles and notebooks among the other devices.
