Oberon's Eastern push

Oberon Media has acquired two new studios to beef up its casual games strategy.

The firm has bought Russian firm Kenjitsu from Nikitova and Ukraine-based Friends Games. It made the announcement as the Casual Games Connect: East Europe event kicked off in Kiev, Ukraine.

It's just another step for Oberon, which continues to grow its casual games presence - it acquired mobile phone game outfit I-Play in May this year and iTV game firm PixelPlay in July. As part of the deal, Nikitova Games CEO Olya Nikitova is to become VP of online for Eastern Europe at Oberon.

Oberon thinks the latest acquisition will also help it offer maketing and production services to developers in the region.
