UK operator will offer iPhone 3G for free with certain contracts. It will also offer the device to PAYG customers.
O2 will begin selling iPhone 3G on July 11th at a significantly lower unit and monthly cost than the previous incarnation of the device.The 8GB 3G model will cost £99 on both a new £30/month tariff and the existing £35/month tariff. The device will be free on the £45 and £75 a month tariffs.
Meanwhile, the 16GB iPhone 3G will cost £159 on the £30/35 a month tariffs, £59 on the £45/month tariff and free on the £75/month tariff.
O2 says it will confirm pricing for Pay & Go pricing in the coming weeks.
The operator says its existing iPhone customers will be able to upgrade to the new device.
