O2 Ireland will be the exclusive Irish network for Apple's iPhone, with a launch date of March 14th.
As elsewhere, the device will also be sold in Ireland through Carphone Warehouse stores. It will be available in an 8GB model for €399 and a 16GB model for €499. Three new iPhone tariffs will be available from O2, starting at €45, all of which will include anytime minutes, texts and a 1GB data bundle. The news came as Telefonica O2 announced its annual results. The operator said iPhone is its fastest-ever selling product in the UK, and that the ARPU of an iPhone customer is 30 per cent higher than an average postpay user, while 60 per cent of iPhone customers have migrated from other networks.
It also confirmed that group data revenue in 4Q 2007 was €3.5 billion, with non-SMS data revenue contributing €680 million.
