Nuance Mobile Developer Program signs 2,500 developers in 90 days.

Dozens of voice-enabled apps already launched.

The Nuance Mobile Developer Program was created to support developers interested in adding a voice interface to their products.

It gives access to the Dragon Mobile SDK for iOS and Android and currently supports US and UK English, European Spanish, European French, German, Italian and Japanese.

Barely three months after its January launch, 2,500 developers signed up.

Those already finished and released include:

* Avantar’s AirYell for iPhone and iPad, which lets users speak to find businesses, services and people located near them.
* iTranslate from Sonico. Users speak words or phases into their iPhone, which are then translated in the language of choice in seconds.
* Taskmind from Catalyst. Speak notes, ideas or simple thoughts to an iPhone, and use an online task tool to reference and share.

“The tremendous global response to the Nuance Mobile Developer Program showcases the intense demand for voice interfaces,” said Michael Thompson, SVP and general manager, Nuance Mobile.

“A large part of that success is the program’s design that lets developers bring their voice-enabled apps to market quickly and easily across iOS, Android and others.”
