NTT DoCoMo introduces flute phone concept

Like Ron Burgandy, you'll be able to play sweet sweet jazz flute wherever you are.

NTT DoCoMo has a history of handset innovation, and in its newest series of updates it has introduced live TV, HD video, sunscreen advice, m-payment and blood testing.

But the weirdest of all is the addition of a flute app, reports Engadget.

We've all been waiting for the phone to enable Jethro Tull and early Genesis solos, and thank God that time is approaching.

Having said that, these ideas are prototypes that NTT could commercialise by 2015. We're not sure why Bluetooth isn't a better option for some of this stuff, but we then again, we know better than to question a Japanese carrier's infinite wisdom. Follow the break for video of the prototype in action.
