Not so soon Zune

Not so soon Zune

Europe will be a Zune-free zone until Q4 2006, said Microsoft at the Midem event in France.

Microsoft’s Jason Reindorp put a brave face on the Zune’s critical battering and relatively slow sales, promising more models this year – and a Euro launch by Christmas. “We feel really good about the first steps that we've taken," he said. "The industry moves in this sort of Christmas to Christmas cycle. So you can expect that there will be more devices, more features in the market at that point."

He also said the Zune had a 10.2 per cent market share in the US in the 30Gb and that it was still in line to sell over a million units by June 30. Zune has been criticised for using a new and closed form of DRM. And for coming in brown.
