But device sales are declining.
Barnes & Noble's fiscal year results ending April 28th show its Nook e-reader series (hardware, digital and accessories) generated revenues of $164 million for the quarter, and $933 million for the year.
However, device sales fell during Q4, which left digital content to power revs, as sales increased by 65 per cent for the quarter, and 119 per cent year-on-year to generate $483 million.
The firm added that its glowlight Nook e-reader has become 'the highest rated e-reader in the market', while Microsoft's £300 million investment is set to power digital growth and international expansion.
