Nokia World reinvented to be more 'intimate'

'Less CES, more SXSW', says the Finnish phone maker.

In previous years, Nokia World has been a big old behemoth of a show, located in huge auditoria and with lots of hoopla.

Now, instead of a single, large-scale event, Nokia says it will host a series of smaller and more intimate events with specific audiences in mind. They will be invitation only.

Could be a budgetary thing. Could be a realisation that a huge event hardly befits a company still a long way from re-establishing itself at the vanguard of the market.

Probably a bit of both.

The date has changed too. Originally the slot was Helsinki on September 25th to 26th. Now it's September 5th to 6th.
