They're all going to be built around services rather than phones on anti-theft wires.
Nokia isn't really shouting about this, but ME has discovered that the company is preparing a radical revamp of its 12 flasghip bricks and mortar shops.
The idea is to give consumers a base from which they can personalise their existing or new device around muisc, gaming, maps, email and so on.
It's interesting because Nokia has clearly ploughed huge resources into virtual stores, but still sees immense value in the contribution that old-fashioned retail can make.
A spokesperson said: "Online is great if you know what you want, but sometimes there's no substitute for talking to an expert face to face and getting good advice."
The first store to roll out the new concept will be the new outlet in Dubai in two weeks. Others will follow. Nokia also has around 1200 concession stores, which could get the treatment too.

No one mentioned it, but the unexpected financial and PR success of Apple's stores may have focused Nokia's corporate mind a bit.
