Nokia may be planning two new ranges of smartphones, after registering trademarks for Cseries and Xseries handsets.
Both trademark filings were made in April this year (the Cseries one is here and the Xseries one is here). They were uncovered by mobile site Unwired View.
Assuming the trademarks turn into bona-fide new ranges, they will presumably sit alongside the existing Nseries multimedia smartphones and the more business-focused Eseries handsets.
There are no details in the filings about what kind of handsets the two new brands would relate to. Possibilities include a new range of music handsets - Nokia already has its XpressMusic phones - or a range of tablet or netbook computers.
Nokia's next big event is its Nokia World 09 conference, due to take place in Stuttgart on 2nd-3rd September. It's possible any new ranges will be announced there.
